Migraines??
Migraine is an intermittent headache, usually only on the head, throbbing, attacks end within 4-72 hours, accompanied by symptoms of nausea / vomiting and may be preceded by aura symptoms.
Although still a mystery how certain mechanisms when a migraine attack. But it seems the problem started from the body's response to stress. The body of thinking that can cope with stress by preparing the muscles for action, the body increases blood flow to muscles and reduces blood flow to the brain. Then when the threat to the body is gone, the brain blood vessels open back which causes blood flow stormed back and this is the cause of pain in migraine attacks.
FIND CAUSE FACTORS
For patients with chronic migraine, often repeated, should seek trigger an attack. Some factors that can trigger migraines are: lack of sleep, too much sleep (on holiday weekends when you do not work), during period, the excess light, the sound is too noisy, and hypoglycemia (eg: when you eat late.) Some medications can also trigger a migraine attack such as: nitrates, chloroquine, contraceptive drug, indomethacin, alcohol and certain foods containing tyramine, nitrates, monosodium glutamate, etc.. Examples of foods that contain vasoactive amines (tyramine and b-phenylethylamines) are: cheese, chocolate, nuts, citrus, red onion. Examples of foods that contain nitrates: ham, gravy, hot dogs, meat. Examples of foods containing monosodium glutamate: food with flavoring / MSG are many such in Chinese cuisine, sauce, some canned food. Examples of foods include: alcohol, eggs, yogurt, dried food.
Emotional stress is also one of the trigger migraine attacks. So it is important also to change negative thoughts and attitudes.
HOW TO OVERCOME migraine?
If your migraines are chronic pain sufferers. You should make a diary entry about a migraine attack. The diary contains moments you experience a migraine attack. Write down everything you eat for 24 hours. Note also emotional factors that cause the attacks. Then evaluate each time you trigger a migraine attack. If you suspect a particular food, then try these foods 1 or 2 more times at other times, if it was true cause of migraine attacks then you should avoid those foods. We recommend that you avoid beverages containing too much caffeine (coffee) and use dark glasses during the day.
Sleep enough. Not less and not excessive. If the weekend you will sleep longer, then stay awake on the hour before you wake up routine. After that, no matter if you go back to sleep. Avoid excessive stress, exercise regularly and practice relaxation techniques. You can also suppress some point acupoints to help healing.
Seeing that the symptoms of migraine comes from the narrowing / kontriksi blood vessels in the brain, it is clear that the effectiveness of treatment must use methods that can dilate blood vessels. So if you would stop the symptoms of migraine, you have to prevent these blood vessels constrict (narrow). During a migraine attack, note that the patient also experienced cold hands and feet. From this it can be seen that at the time of the blood vessels in the brain constrict the body's response to stress due to the blood vessels leading to the hands and feet also constrict. So your ability to open blood flow in the hands and feet it will open also the blood flow to the brain. So you'll avoid the attack of migraine. If there are just signs of a migraine attack will happen, it can be done following techniques:
1. Relax yourself physically and mentally (you can use relaxation methods in this book.)
2. Try to see your hands are pale. Imagine the blood stream widened and widened. Look more and more blood flow to flow into your skin. If you have difficulty with this technique, then you can imagine also your hand in front of the stove fire and hands warm.
3. Imagine growing your hands warm. When this happens the blood flow in otakpun increases and you are not experiencing a migraine attack.
